Material for use in high temperature structural applications or durable thermal protection applications with dielectric properties desirable for radome and antenna applications.
Key Material Characteristics:
- Efficient near net shape production of complex parts
- Dielectric properties suitable for applications requiring radar transparency such as radomes
- High maximum use temperature
Key Tests Performed:
- Heat flux of 350 W/cm² for 120 seconds during a LHMEL test at Wright Patterson Air Force base
- Mach 7 wind tunnel test at NASA Langley
- Currently part of the Materials International Space Station Experiment 6 (MISSE)
- Selected for MISSE 7
Hotblox SiC
ATC is developing Hotblox SiC for armor, high wear, and high temperature applications.

- Complex shapes can be formed efficiently by injection or compression molding
